Outcomes included recognition of too low a profile for CCD work; focus 'only' on at-risk or marginalised sub-communities; insecure funding; local government was providing better support generally.
Communion of Cultural Peers held at Newcastle 24NOV06
Outcomes were positive: the practice of arts and cultural processes was active. Issues included a need for more communication, information and coordination, and more formal council/artist collaboration.

The outcomes included identifying the challenges - which included red tape and inadequate funding, a large area to cover, and a lack of cultural and arts facilities.

CCD responded to the Western Sydney Region of Councils' Draft Regional Planning Framework paper
Representations to Australia Council for the Arts
CCD expressed a concern that increases in planned expenditure for most artform areas outstripped the increases in Federal funding, and that the shortfall might be made up by reducing CCD funding amongst others.
CCD's submission on Cultural Planning Guidelines
An EXTRACT from CCDNSW’s submission to the NSW Ministry for
the Arts, in response to the Third draft of the Cultural Planning guidelines, as
circulated by the Local Government Association and Shires Association of NSW.
Charity Bill 2003 - Submission
CCD's submission on the 2003 Charity Bill lauded the introduction of "culture" as a charitable object in itself, rather than via an notional educational value. CCD made9 recommendations for further improvement.
Response to Throsby Report - "Don't Give Up Your Day Job"
CCDNSW responded by stating that the report did not provide any insight into the reasons behind the trends identified, ignored the then new tax system, and did not explore the diversity of the CCD sector.
Gareth Wreford - USA Visit
Gareth Wreford, Executive Director Arts Access Australia visited San Francisco, Washington DC and delivered a paper at the STPA conference at the University of Oregon, Eugene. His paper is included.
AusCan policy response to Peter Garrett's Arts paper 19DEC07
Response to :"New Directions for the Arts:
Supporting a vibrant and diverse Australian arts
sector", recommending a strong platform for Arts and Cultural policy, in increase in funding, for srts and the professional infrastructure to support art and cultural practice, and the development of an Australia Council strategy to support community and cultural development.
